Circus Time Has Come Again!!

So this cake was very special for me to make.  The family had just adopted a child from Africa and this was to be his first real birthday party.  Adoption is such a wonderful part of my families life and I was so happy to be able to do this cake for this new little family.

So one of my oldest friends just had a sweet little baby girl named Gretta.  I was given free reign on what I wanted to do for a cake and I've wanted to try a two tier rose cake for awhile.  So I thought, hey, now's the time!  I'm starting to want to try to decorate more with icings instead of always just using fondant.  Anyways, here was the result.

A Quick And Spooky Halloween

So I had told the school that I would make a cake for the annual school Cake Walk fundraiser at the Halloween Dance.  Little did I know that I would be swamped like crazy with school work that week.  So in looking up quick cake ideas I came across direction on how to do a cake like this!  The web is all Marshmallow.  It was SO easy!!  Check out the How-To Tutorial here!

PS - Fix your spider legs to be the right angles BEFORE placing them on the cake!  Marshmallow is SUPER sticky and once that leg was on I couldn't move it to fix it!

Avengers Lego Cake

Lego Lego Lego.  What is it with boys and their Lego?  Pair it with Superheros and this is what you've got.  This mom wanted the Avengers Lego style figures on some big Lego blocks.  Forgive the bad pictures, I was in quite a hurry that day.

LOVE The Hulk!

This one was for my sweet niece who absolutely LOVES the Tangled movie.  I was short on time so didn't have time to make Rapunzel herself, so I got creative and this is the result.

This next cake was literally a straight copy off the internet.  I was totally sapped of creative juices and the customer loved this cake that I showed them.  So here's the one that I made...

Oy Vey...it's been a long time since last I posted!  Okay...let's catch up shall we?  I've been a little busy seeing as how I'm in full time school to become a Pastry Chef, have a husband and two little chickies and have to find time to work somewhere in that mess!  So needless to say I've been turning down quite a few cakes lately.

This one was for a cousin's wedding this summer.  The bride wanted these deep purple orchids and a three tiered white cake with a simple pearl border.
